Training, Technical Assistance, and Targeted Research to Improve Employment and Community Integration of Refugees and People with Disabilities

Chrysalis Collaborations is currently focusing on training, technical assistance, and targeted research to improve employment and community integration of refugees and people with disabilities.

In December, Chrysalis Collaborations principal Jo Anne Schneider was an invited participant in the Global Young Academy’s Fresh Eyes on the Refugee Crisis consultation on the European refugee situation (see http://globalyoungacademy.net/fresh-eyes-on-the-refugee-crisis/).

Since the summer, she has served on task forces for Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration’s (DDA) Employment First initiative to plan for CMS Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) final rule transformation of the service system for people with developmental disabilities.

With over 25 years’ experience helping agencies implement public policy and provide quality services, Chrysalis Collaborations is now offering trainings and individual consultations that use insights from these activities to provide cutting edge advice to your organization.  Services include:

  • Customized trainings/workshops on refugee resettlement, with an emphasis on successful job placement and social integration.
  • Customized trainings/workshops on hiring and retaining staff with disabilities for businesses, employment services agency and government agency staff.
  • Individual consultations and technical assistance with business, service provider agencies and government regarding improving hiring, retention, and social integration of people with disabilities and refugees in their organizations and developing or improving programs to enhance employment for these two groups.
